Information for surrogate candidates in Colombia

What is a Surrogate?
A Surrogate (or Gestational Carrier) is a woman who carries a pregnancy to help another person or couple form their family. In this process, the surrogate does not contribute genetic material: the baby is not biologically hers, as the embryo is created through fertility treatment (IVF) with the gametes of the intended parents and/or donors. In this process, the surrogate provides the care and time necessary during gestation, with medical accompaniment and continuous follow-up.
